Summary + Transcript

Meeting Notes

  • Share your wins in the chat. 0:45
    • Welcome to the live strategy call on Tuesday, august 1, and share your wins in the chat.
    • Rewiring neural pathways and celebrating the things that you are proud of.
    • Three pre-submitted questions for the third intensive on August 17, replays available on crowdcast.
    • This Thursday is genius chat, a low-key call where everyone gets their mics off and gets their tips.
  • The definition of wins. 5:47
    • Last week, alicia st germain did the first of three guest coaching spots, and she is doing two more.
    • In the spirit of celebrating wins, define wins for everyone.
    • Sara handed off her website project for her first four-week project since joining the WGA. Karen got another referral consultation this friday.
    • Lee is taking an extended vacation and is unavailable.
  • Pricing for family and friends clients. 9:14
    • Michelle is feeling stuck when it comes to pricing for family and friends. She has two potential clients that are in or adjacent to her niche, and is up to her elbows in her trash on working with them.
    • Michelle, your questions are a gift to everyone else in this room.
    • The importance of having informal conversations with friends and family, and how to take control of the conversation to schedule an official consultation with them.
    • How to get the best way to move forward from here is to schedule a consultation with you.
  • What do you see as possible for the business? 14:33
    • The speaker had an official consultation with her and looked at what was working and what she would like to change to make her site better and increase her revenue.
    • She had a couple of things that made her want to set up a Google business profile for her.
    • Most people don't make it all the way to usa competitive stuff, and those take more coaching hours and cost.
    • For one class at a level one, she has to get 100 clients to pay back the extra investment.
  • The cognitive dissonance between logic and fear. 19:35
    • Alicia is afraid of being seen as crazy. She is afraid that giving her daughter a crazy price may shift her relationship with her and make things harder for her daughter.
    • Alicia was training last week and saw the beginning of the end of it, so she needs to listen to the whole thing.
    • Sometimes people project their worst fears onto other people, and it's hard to think of a clearer way to say it.
    • The speaker is a person of integrity, and she feels like she is not afraid of her prices. She's just starting to feel secure.
  • What I want you to do for your client. 25:29
    • Invite her to tell you all of the opportunities she is seeing for her and what you want to do for her.
    • Present the package matrix to her as an opportunity.
    • Make sure you have an option that you feel comfortable with when you put it to her that you truly are letting her choose.
    • Focus on what you are trying to say.
  • How to get referrals from clients. 29:27
    • The next step is to get an official spot on the coach's calendar every time to signal that this is a legit business with processes.
    • The worst 90 times out of 10, the worst fears don't happen, and the one-time-out-of-10 that they do, is that they're blindsided.
    • Caitlin and Caitlin are helping Caitlin with her website, and there is growth in that too. Caitlin will give her brilliant feedback on it, and then go from there.
    • Ruby wants to speak up in a call last week, but felt like she would be making it all about herself.
  • What perspective shifts can I implement to overcome this? 35:19
    • Erica is grateful for the clients she has, but also wants to know what perspective shifts and personal boundaries can be put in place to overcome the feeling of taking up too much space or time.
    • Erica says that her questions are a gift and the vulnerability of asking is appreciated.
    • Being aware of the thoughts before even getting to some of the places in the curriculum is powerful. Listen to the pricing mindset makeover modules and continue to get coached when it comes up.
    • Mind trash makeover, mind trash, makeover and mind trash.
  • The pricing mindset makeover. 40:55
    • Pricing mindset, transforming deliverables into results, transforming the cost of not working with you, and pricing mindset makeover stuff in module three.
    • The two places to dive deep into pricing mindset.
    • Make a list of all the ways you are not ripping people off by charging higher prices.
    • If you feel like you are starting to make offers to people, go to module three.
    • Michelle gets motivated and inspired when she watches the modules and feels like she can do it.
    • The delicate balance between not harassing the client and not harassing them.
  • What makes you feel hesitant? 46:58
    • Alicia describes the feast and famine cycle of her business, where she feels hesitant to take action and takes action, and the result is not getting new clients or creating opportunities.
    • Alicia takes us through the process of identifying the thought that is creating an unwanted result.
    • The speaker wants to invite the client to ask questions before they go through all of the content.
    • The most pressing thing is the retainer one. The speaker is trying to present this to one client who calls her all the time and refuses to use email.
  • How to raise prices with current clients? 53:01
    • There is a script called raising with current clients in module three, which is one of the last modules in the package matrix.
    • Write out ahead of time what you want to say and practice it. The key is to keep emotion out of it.
    • Caitlin has a question about the level of deliverables and how to rework it to be about the number of pages.
    • If Patrick removed that line from his package matrix, how would anything change?
    • There was a conversation about just a one page website versus the navigation of a five page website.
    • The first page is the most paper intensive piece of building a website. You really only need to design one page when you're building a site.

I know not everyone is me but just an un-biased thought about it!
