It’s been helpful for me! It’s called RAIN. The thought behind it is that as you avoid a task, a bunch of negative unvoiced thoughts form around the task that make it even harder to do it. So RAIN helps break it down.

Basically, first you Recognize what your feeling- bored, worried, ashamed, guilty, etc, then you Acknowledge that you’re feeling those feelings and sit with them for a bit. Then you Investigate why you’re feeling those ways – I’m feeling guilty that I haven’t even started the task and have been saying I’m working on it and ashamed because I should have been able to complete it by now etc. and finally you Nurture yourself- forgive yourself for not completing the task so far, telling yourself that you still have value as a designer even though you haven’t finished or worked on the task yet, etc.

It really helps to take the weight off in terms of the task so you can use the SPS (smallest possible step) technique more easily
