00:01:52 Caitlin Harrison: Said no again to work that didn't align with where I am going in my business
00:02:16 Caitlin Harrison: I'm sure I can come up with some word vomit to spit out 🤣
00:02:23 Karen: I have my first consultation this Friday.
00:02:24 Mia Rendon: I showed up for myself and my business today even though I am just not feeling it today
00:03:24 Janet Hoover: Giving myself permission to get things done as soon as I can and not stressing when things or client work get in the way of my plans lol!
00:03:34 Kate Newnham: I sent a rate increase email to a current client
00:03:44 Janet Hoover: Yes, Mia!!
00:03:58 Brittney: Had a photo shoot to update photos on my website that align better with my brand. And started a networking group in my community and have had a pretty decent turnout so far.
00:04:08 Janet Hoover: Ooo, I’m doing that this week, Kate! Yay!
00:04:28 Janet Hoover: Ooo, nice Brittney!
00:04:41 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: wins: kept with time-blocking, created a 1st draft of a maintenance package, followed up with a not-right-timing lead from a month or two ago
00:04:57 Mia Rendon: So cool Brittney!!
00:05:19 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: that IS cool brittney!
00:05:35 Janet Hoover: You go Kaila!!
00:05:46 Janet Hoover: You da boss, Caitlin!
00:06:10 Kate Newnham: Wow Kaila! Omg I love photo shoots @Brittney!
00:07:05 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: thank you! nice work everyone!
00:10:16 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: that ALWAYS happens when a zoom is about to start!
00:10:20 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: hi tiny human!
00:10:52 Janet Hoover: Squee!
00:11:17 Mia Rendon: I have a question about my client process and the project planner because I had/have some issues with this particular client and the project planner. Wondering if there is something I can do better in the future.
00:14:09 Kate Newnham: jaw drop
00:14:13 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: and then you loath it everytime you see her emails
00:14:14 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: yah
00:14:53 Mia Rendon: What if this door closes for something better?
00:16:09 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: do you lose the case study if you the client leaves?
00:18:07 Kate Newnham: I just lie and say I'm focusing on a different service/niche/etc.
00:18:17 Caitlin Harrison: I’d do the same, @Kate
00:18:19 Kate Newnham: Not sure if that's right but it seems to work LOL
00:18:32 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: ‘i don't have the capacity' haha
00:18:36 Kate Newnham: hahaha
00:19:06 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: yah how do you kindly ask someone to stop treating you like shit
00:19:52 Caitlin Harrison: you probably will never know how it got to this point, its always like a frog in boiling water
00:20:35 Kate Newnham: Sounds like fear or that coach
00:20:40 Caitlin Harrison: I had to quit a job with a boss who got so toxic
00:20:55 Caitlin Harrison: it was a million little things that pushed into being so micromanaged
00:21:03 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: right, like unless you felt comfortable saying that you've noticed a change and asking if something has changed on either end. but also maybe it doesn't even matter.
00:21:36 Caitlin Harrison: and good luck to them on the next contractor who likely will be less talented and helpful
00:23:19 Kate Newnham: Perhaps go to existing clients you love and asking them / offering them what else you can do for them! I've increased my revenue doing that.
00:23:37 Kate Newnham: “You're my dream client and I would love to do more for you”
00:27:27 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: it's sooo draining and sometimes you don't even realize until you're out of the situation.
00:28:02 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: that's a great point
00:28:10 Caitlin Harrison: 30 days sounds long
00:28:12 Christine Westlake: Another option is to resend your
00:28:19 Caitlin Harrison: you only give two weeks for an employer haha
00:28:39 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: good luck leigh!! <3 00:29:09 Christine Westlake: Send new package matrix, say effective this date I'm requiring all clients to be on a new package > price her out and make it easy to get out without the cringe.
00:29:31 Kate Newnham: $10K a day!
00:30:18 Aisha Beauford: I love it! The I-Expect-You-Too Package Matrix
00:30:36 leighscott: Thanks everyone!
00:30:42 Caitlin Harrison: you got this!!
00:32:00 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: is it warmer there? lol b/c i'm freezing my buttoose off
00:32:48 leighscott: Kaila, you can come to Atlanta. It's heat and mosquitoes galore
00:32:58 Kate Newnham: SoCal next year!
00:32:58 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: oh damn i gotta convert fahrenheit
00:33:00 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: one moment
00:33:28 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: like it is here now maybe :p
00:33:50 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: like the fact that most of you are wearing tshirts right now is making me very jealous :p
00:34:41 Erica Nash: Kaila, it's still soooo hot here. High 90s, I'm jealous you're cold 😂
00:35:01 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: let's switch! where's my teleporter!
00:35:06 Erica Nash: 😂😂
00:35:38 Caitlin Harrison: we are in the high 80s here and it feels cold after so much humidity this summer in north carolina
00:35:59 Erica Nash: That sounds lovely!
00:36:50 Courtney Wilson: @Kaila EEP. where in Canada are you? It's still mid 20s here in SW Ontario (though warm for this time of year)
00:36:51 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: it's 55 here but at least there's no snow yet!
00:38:08 Caitlin Harrison: maybe some reminder emails set in an automation?
00:38:10 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: just outside of regina – middle of the prairies. it's overcast and windy today and it rained a bit overnight so always feels extra cold during the transition. i'm still hoping we might get a few 20's before sept is over!
00:38:18 Kate Newnham: I am also finding that clients need assistance to fill it out – or talk through it – cuz it seems overwhelming
00:38:29 Caitlin Harrison: One thing I like about Content Snare is that there are automated emails to remind
00:40:48 Caitlin Harrison: yes!! my new client happily filled out the project planner with a day or two to spare before our kickoff call
00:41:06 Caitlin Harrison: I definitely think skin in the game is so key
00:44:10 Kate Newnham: Question (if there's time) – One of my clients wants me to add a tech element that needs custom code. I don't say anywhere in my contract that anything that needs custom code isn't included and it's going to take me a few hours to hire someone to do it. I (once again) have that feeling like “ugh i don't want to ask for more $$” – do I just do it and if they want more, push back?? That's my gut feeling b/c I know they have more work for me after this. Or is that setting a bad precedent?
00:45:08 Caitlin Harrison: @kate ugh I feel that too… my default setting is always yes to figuring things out or coding things (if I can) once they are a client
00:45:40 Kate Newnham: Yeah – it was after I already started – so annoying
00:48:35 Courtney Wilson: Kate – can you say something like “I'm sorry, this is out of the scope of the website that we had agreed upon, and will cost additional yadda yadda blah blah blah”?
00:50:25 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: awh, you care so much! that's a big part of your value to clients!!
00:50:39 Kate Newnham: That sounds like a great setup, thanks Courtney 🙂
00:50:58 Aisha Beauford: Augh! Sounds like me I wanna cry.
00:58:28 Kate Newnham: I already have a quote
01:03:27 Kate Newnham: Thanks all! Byeeee
01:03:57 Erica Nash: 8 week replays too!
