This Week's Questions

Chat

00:01:40 Lauren N.: potential client from last week wants to get on a call tomorrow to discuss the package they want to move forward with!! My first potential package matrix client!
00:02:00 Janet Hoover: Yay!
00:02:04 leighscott: congrats!
00:02:20 Caitlin Harrison: had two consults that feel pretty positive on a yes, one sooner than later on their timelines
00:02:20 Rachel Briscoe: Woohoo!!!! Awesome Lauren 🙌
00:02:26 Janet Hoover: I've been doing it messy/on-the-fly – client wrap up docs and other rebrand/things that need to be redone (plus the usual client work) 🙂 AND…proud of myself holding my boundaries with a new inquiry and sending her thru my new WDA process
00:02:30 Erica Nash: Congrats, Lauren! So exciting and LOVE to see this after all the work you've put in
00:02:36 Janet Hoover: Yay, Caitlin!!
00:02:47 Erica Nash: Yay Caitlin!!
00:02:53 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: I did two outreach emails, created a consultation call script and used it in a consult call which I felt like went awesome and sent my first full proposal out of dubsado.
00:02:54 Lauren N.: Thanks Erica!
00:03:05 Erica Nash: Yessssss, Janet
00:03:18 Janet Hoover: OOoo nice Kaila!!
00:03:19 Erica Nash: Kaila 💪💪
00:03:22 Trish Bovell: As soon as I get final feedback from my zombie client, the website is ready to launch!
00:03:29 Janet Hoover: I felt so good!
00:03:31 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Great work everyone!!
00:03:41 Erica Nash: Trish, that has to feel so good!!🎉
00:03:42 leighscott: 👏 Kaila
00:03:53 Trish Bovell: wow Kaila!
00:04:02 LaShae Dorsey: I used my first Matrix in a proposal video – and now need to finish module 4
00:04:09 Janet Hoover: Huge, Trish!!!
00:04:12 Erica Nash: Yay, LaShae!!!
00:04:25 Janet Hoover: WOO HOO LaShae!!
00:04:45 leighscott: I’m finally taking the next step towards standardizing my packages
00:04:58 Erica Nash: 🎉🎉🎉🎉
00:05:18 leighscott: I was trying to read your lips
00:06:31 Janet Hoover: Yay, Leigh!
00:08:33 Caitlin Harrison: will there be copy changes? like swapping the name in the copy?
00:10:06 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: He also gets double the value with two sites
00:10:17 Janet Hoover: And paying for your expertise
00:10:18 leighscott: I told my friend that works for an agency that I don’t do hourly work because that doesn’t reward efficiency and she told me at the agency if they do the work it in less hours then what they estimate, they charge for the “value” of what they provided.
00:11:32 LaShae Dorsey: But is IS two websites – with different domain names so it's two sites
00:11:57 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Also, if it was so easy, he could duplicate the site!
00:12:22 Janet Hoover: Exactly
00:13:05 Janet Hoover: Yeah…I struggle with that a lot
00:13:15 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: You may also have the opportunity to lean on the contract in the call? I mean, the fact that he signed it so you jumped into action to do all the work behind that.
00:13:28 LaShae Dorsey: YES!!! We don't sell time anymore. That's been the biggest thing.
00:13:49 Courtney Wilson: Love that @Leigh! The “value” of what they provide!
00:14:54 Kate Newnham: Shannon – Has it helped you get a lot of clients?
00:15:44 Courtney Wilson: LOL – they learn how difficult it is to do on their own.
00:16:15 Caitlin Harrison: have other students created similar offers? and my process is similar to yours, should I watch the new version through?
00:19:50 Janet Hoover: Oh yeah, love Site Presser!
00:21:25 Caitlin Harrison: 🤯
00:21:34 Lauren N.: wow, this is incredible
00:24:17 Caitlin Harrison: thank you!!
00:24:24 Caitlin Harrison: I could talk about it for hours too 🙂
00:24:30 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Genius chat :p
00:24:51 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Yes, listening to even your final podcast was SO interesting
00:26:37 Janet Hoover: Maybe instead of refunding, she could offer care & maint for 6 months or something (if she isn't already)
00:27:13 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: And of course they didn't tell her until after she followed up.
00:27:38 Kate Newnham: Does the contract say no refunds?
00:34:42 Kate Newnham: “intense” sounds scary – lol
00:38:28 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: that's an ‘intense' mind shift haha i like it
00:38:54 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: like oprah – a high end package for YOU and a high end package for YOU
00:39:15 leighscott: hahah
00:39:34 Trish Bovell: haha Kaila!
00:40:21 Janet Hoover: such a great question!
00:41:43 Lauren N.: Question if we have time…I am coming to the end of a 6 month contract with an SEO client. She is pretty high maintenance, but we've developed a bond over the past 6 months working together. She told me she hired a marketing coach and was hoping i could work past the 6 months to do more SEO work for her and collab with the marketing coach. I said I would help where I can, but If I'm honest with myself, I'd like to stop working with her. She requires a lot of my attention for a small budget plus I'm trying to focus more on web design projects. At the same time, we haven't hit the SEO goals she was hoping to hit, so I feel responsible to get her there, like I'm abandoning her if I stop working, and this is an Upwork client who could give me a bad review and affect my profile in a big way. Feeling very tangled 😂
00:42:03 Kate Newnham: Question (if there's time) – Have you ever paid to be featured on TV and entrepreneur news sites? Do you recommend that?
00:42:33 Kate Newnham: @Caitlin – giving options is AMAZING
00:42:35 Kate Newnham: They love it
00:44:05 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Yes, I WISH I was as confident word-vomiting as you Caitlin
00:44:20 Janet Hoover: Right!
00:48:19 Caitlin Harrison: I htink you do
00:48:31 Caitlin Harrison: you can submit to UpWork if you contest the review
00:48:35 Caitlin Harrison: I think they let you remove 1-2
00:49:32 leighscott: I got a bad review 1 time and I cried for a day, and it eventually just didn’t impact my score at all. But it actually felt good eventually because it ripped thebandaid off and took the pressure off
00:50:19 Kate Newnham: omg I could never do Upwork for that reason.
00:50:20 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: I have read before that people actually trust non 100% reviews MORE because it's more real
00:50:28 Kate Newnham: @kaila – I was juST going to say that
00:50:39 Kate Newnham: 93% sounds more trustworthy
00:50:44 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Yep
00:50:50 Kate Newnham: Everyone knows clients can suck sometimes hahahah
00:51:17 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Because then someone will go see why, and when they see your other work and usually an unrealistic bad review, they still love ya!
00:51:38 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Yep, it's more about how you respond. (NOt sure on Upwork how that works, but on Google at least)
00:58:00 Rachel Briscoe: Thanks so much for such an awesome call!! Have a great week everyone!
00:58:14 Janet Hoover: YOu have the best answers!!
00:58:25 Kate Newnham: Have you ever paid?
01:00:26 Caitlin Harrison: Is there an existing spreadsheet/resource for us to track calls that calculates conversion rates?
01:00:55 Erica Nash: Yes! It's in the first (i think newsletter)
01:01:05 Erica Nash: But I'll be adding tools to WDA website soon!
01:01:09 Caitlin Harrison: I thought I had seen it!
01:01:16 Caitlin Harrison: I need to start tracking this all better
01:01:23 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Me too!
01:01:28 Janet Hoover: Me three
01:01:55 Erica Nash: Mindtrash 911
01:02:04 Kaila – HeyKaila Media: Ooooh, have fun out of town!
01:02:04 LaShae Dorsey: Me four! And yes ALWAYS the bestestessstes answers
01:02:13 Kate Newnham: thank you!!
01:02:16 Lauren N.: Thank you Shannon and Erica!
